BOARD CERTIFICATION & FELLOWSHIP IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE
ABAM issues Board Certification and Fellowship to physicians with M.D. (Doctor of
Medicine) and D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) degrees.
Non-physicians are eligible for the Advanced Certificate in Aesthetic
Medicine. Participants will leave the process with enough knowledge to
integrate aesthetic medicine to their existing practices or to open a
stand-alone medical spa.
All candidates for Fellowship must complete both the aesthetic medicine
training Step 1 and Step 2 courses. Upon completion of both training courses,
candidates will be qualified to sit for the fellowship written examination. Successful passing
of the written examination will earn the designation of Fellow, American
Board of Aesthetic Medicine.
Board Certification will requires the completion of Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3 courses.
Sucessful passing of the written board examination will earn the designation of Diplomate, American Board of Aesthetic Medicine.

1) Completion of Step 1 - Certificate in Aesthetic Medicine
2) Completion of Step 2 - Advanced Certificate in Aesthetic Medicine
3) Passing score on fellowship written examination
4) Fellow, American Board of Aesthetic Medicine
5) Completion of Step 3 - Certificate in Anti-Aging Medicine & Stem Cell Therapy
6) Passing score on written board examination
7) Board Certified, American Board of Aesthetic Medicine
